So here are a systems I set in place in my household which really helped decluttering, here goes:

Make sure that you select a date in your calendar for annual housecleaning. This could involve setting aside a day to donate books and toys, give clothing to a charity shop. This is a great way to declutter and free some space, aswel as helping those in need.

You could also take part in garage sales, as this is a fabulous way to declutter your home and make some money. For those items that you did not sell, stop by the charity shop on the way home, and donate them. Make sure you promise yourself before you leave for the charity shop, that you will be returning to the house with no items. Ultimately your target is to
declutter your house, therefore you should be coming back with nothing!

I know it’s real hard to throw out clothing that you think you “may fit into again”. But be strict and throw away clothing that doesn’t fit, and also throw away clothing that children have grown out of. If you do lose those extra pounds to fit into that dress again, it will probably be out of style by then anyway so don’t feel bad about throwing it out.

Declutter Books – They can really take up alot of space! Donate the ones you have read – it’s all for a good cause and will greatly benefit you too.

Kitchen appliances can take up a huge amount of space, so items such as that blender that you haven’t used in months, throw it away or donate it to someone, if the appliance is in bad condition make sure you inform the person of it’s condition
as you won’t want to start losing friends because of it!
